SAM
Writ. Adam O’Brien Co-Dir. Kelly Nicholson
The end is nigh. Sorry.
SAM is the story of Sam and her job. Sam is death, and her job is to finalise this cosmic chapter in the annals of eternity by going about and ending the last five realities in existence.
Made up of five scenes, each independent of each other and each exploring the many varying components of death, this production uses humour, immortality, vampires, dinosaurs, nuclear Armageddon among other things, to navigate what it means to live and what it means to be left behind.
Sam is the final instalment in The Dire Theatre supernatural trilogy of plays and is a funny and heartfelt ride that examines what it means to die, to live, to create life, to love, to lose, and to sacrifice.
Co-directed by several emerging directors, Kelly Nicholson directed the scenes Father Knows Best and Death Beats Death.
